September 2026
Dear partners in produce,
As always, I hope this letter finds you in good spirits and good health. The 2026 growing season has been close to ideal from start to finish. We look forward to a complete harvest and good storage season…please say your prayers for us!
We are looking to start our packing plant on Wednesday, September 9th. During the first day or two we will be running whites and yellows for sure. We believe the skin is setting nicely on the reds, so we expect to have them on Thursday as well. Purple potatoes should be available during the first week of October. We will pack all varieties fresh from the field through early to mid-November. After that our potatoes will come out of our storage system for the remainder of the packing season.
After many good seasons, last year’s white variety left us with something to be desired. We have switched all our white crop to a typey and shiny variety that we have grown in the past. Pre-season test digging has looked pretty sensational. Hopefully you’ve seen some of those pictures, but if not we’ve attached one as a reference. As we’ve done for the past couple of seasons we’re again planning on using our premium storage building to keep the white potato availability going through December and into January.
You can always check our consumer pack options and see the Nelson family story here on our website. Thank you for all of the support through a challenging 2025 crop season, and we are looking forward to starting a new harvest season with you. Sincerely,
Ryan Schols, Chief Financial Officer
